VIDEOS AND PHOTOS FROM OUR MINISTRY

Thanks to you, we are able to continue serving veterans.

Without your partnership, we simply would not have the resources or opportunity to do this.

This time, I’d like to invite you to watch a short video about one of our retreats, where you can see and hear directly from the veterans who participated.

I also want to remind you that these men had the opportunity to take part in this project, hear about Christ, and for some of them, even attend a Protestant church for the very first time—all because you chose to support our ministry and pray for us!

Also, if you would like to show it at your church, you can find the video at this link:

And just a little bit about some of the participants in this project:

Ihor

His father, Vasyl, served with me in the same battalion. We went through some of the hardest battles of 2022 together. I shared the Gospel with him, and we read the Bible and prayed together. I hope and believe that he became a Christian.

Vasyl was killed in 2023. Just a few hours before his death, we had lunch together, and for the first time he told me about his son, Ihor, who had also been mobilized and had recently gone to war. Vasyl told me how worried he was about his son and how much he wanted him to live. A few hours later, Vasyl was killed.

After Vasyl’s death, I found his son through Facebook. Ihor had also been seriously wounded and was later discharged from military service.

Vasyl (Ihor’s father) is in the center. This photo was taken after our “service on the war” when we read the Bible and prayed together.

For Ihor, participating in our project was especially emotional because he had the opportunity to spend time with someone who had been a friend of his father and had spoken with him just hours before his death. He was able to hear that his father’s last conversation with me was about him—about how much his father loved him and wanted him to live.

We talked a lot, and we cried together. Later, Ihor wanted to visit our church, and we had many conversations about Christ, Christianity, and God.

Yarik also served in the same battalion with me in 2022. He suffered severe blast injuries that damaged his internal organs and required many major abdominal surgeries, including the removal of portions of his intestines. He also struggles with severe PTSD.

I have been sharing the Gospel and talking with Yarik about Christ for a long time, and I was very glad that he also wanted to visit church with us. Before this, he had never attended a Protestant church.

Yarik and his fellow soldier, also named Ihor, who served with me in the same battalion as well, were deeply impressed by the Protestant church. They appreciated the clear and understandable sermon, the contemporary worship, and especially the atmosphere of love among people from many different cultures. The church we currently attend is an international church.

I was especially surprised by Anton. I’ve written to you about him before—he is a childhood friend of mine who used to attend church but later lost his faith.

He was seriously wounded in the war and had to undergo open-heart surgery. After everything he experienced during the war, he became even more distant from faith.

That’s why I was so surprised when he also wanted to visit our church with us. It was probably the first time he had stepped inside a church in the last ten years.

We now have regular support group meetings with this group. The guys even take the initiative to organize calls themselves.

I can see that a real community of veterans is beginning to form—a community where they support and help one another. And most importantly, I can see God at work in the hearts of the men in this group.

In September, we are planning the next retreat for everyone who has already participated in our Budapest retreats. This retreat will include challenges in different areas of life, including the spiritual area. We want to encourage the participants to begin studying the Bible and seeking God.

The retreat will take place from September 24–28. We would greatly appreciate your prayers for all the preparations and, most importantly, that God would work in the hearts of the veterans.

If you would like to support this retreat financially, please let me know.

Once again, we want to thank you for your support and for your prayers for us!
